Today was a good day :-)
Jan. 9th, 2026 05:09 pmGood evening govna!!!
I woke up at 5:15am and was done making my bed and picking out my clothes by 5:19am. I wore my purple GAP hoodie with a white shirt under it, along with denim jeans. I painted my nails last night but the nail polish on my right ring finger smudged, so I decided to remove it and repaint it today. But when I was taking it pressing the acetone-soaked cotton rounds to my nail, I ended up removing some polish from my left pinky, so I had to repaint that as well and pray it didn't smudge AGAIN.
I had nothing to do in school today, so I just watched World's Strictest Parents for a while before listening to Dai the Flu - Deftones.
The weather said it'd be raining all day today, but it was warm and sunny for the entire time we were in Jonesboro, AR lol. I asked my dad about the bike idea again, and he said no. But I'm just glad he didn't say he was going to get rid of Collins (, incase you forgot, that's what I call my bike.) We dropped my dad off at work around 8am and stopped at a gas station to get some snacks before we drove to Jonesboro. I got a can of pringles sour cream and onion, and a bottle of water (this will be important later), my brother got the same kind of pringles along with juice, and my sister got mountain dew (and maybe something else, idk.)
My sister made this song playlist to play in car while we drove to Jonesboro. She told me she'd be putting songs that she wouldn't normally play into the playlist. The playlist mainly consisted of Fnaf fan songs, songs off of Hazbin Hotel, Get Scared, and that was mostly it. And my mom... my mom ''tolerated'' the songs, but she was incredibly grateful when my sister played a MJ song when we left Jonesboro.
We stopped at McDonalds first to eat breakfast, but I only ate like, two hashbrowns. I ended up throwing away my brother's cup of water on accident... whoops;; But it's fine 'cause he had his juice to drink. My aunt, Melissa, actually lives in Jonesboro, and because my mom had felt sorry for ignoring her calls (she was angry at everyone in her family, I forgot why), she took us to Kroger to buy our aunt some apology-flowers. My mom told us that our aunt likes sunflowers and roses, but we couldn't find any. So, we ended up picking out this assortment of flowers with like 2-3 sunflowers in it, put it in a vase, and manually added the roses in.
We had to use my bottle of water to put water into the vase (see! it was important), and then we drove to the hospital Melissa works at to deliver them to her.
My mom asked the lady at the front desk if she could call Melissa out of the lab, we hugged her after she came out and handed her the flowers, and then we took some pictures with her.
After that, she felt like showing us where she worked at and who she worked with, before bringing us back to the hospital's lobby to talk some more. I don't remember why, but she ended up handing us this book she had been reading. She also offered us the password to his HBO account, which was really nice, especially given the fact that me and my sister had been begging our mom for a couple of weeks :D
The book she handed us was called 'The Wolf King', and she told us it was about a human princess being kidnapped by the wolf clan because they were sick of the human's sheer audacity. While she was telling us about it, my sister kept saying she didn't really like romantasy, or romance in general. So I offered to read it instead. Idk why, it's not like I'm even a fan of werewolves to begin with, I just felt like I should try reading more books this year and still do. Me and my sister agreed to read the book together.
We went to this East-Asian centered store after that, because thought she would find something good there and even though my sister was left unimpressed by the store, she still managed to get something she wanted, which was a bag that she could turn into an ita bag in the future. I got this matcha latte and enjoyed it; it tasted like tea (/had the consistency of water that you had swished around in your mouth for a bit before swallowing it) but sweeter (I also got this Tamagotchi mechanical pen and Tamagotchi stickers.)
And then we went to Five Below where my sister got this surprise-Fnaf-plush-thingy. I forgot which order we did this in, but we went to GameStop and weren't able to find anything, before(?) going to Walmart to get my sister's cake--and she also finally managed to get something on her list--a box of Ben 10 DVDs. And then we ate at Chick-fil-a. And while we were there, I laughed so hard at my mom's jokes I almost couldn't breathe.
When I had to get my brother out of Cfa's play section, I asked him a bit about the friend he had made while he was in there, and the kid kept saying ''Khalid, don't stop,'' but I didn't understand what he was saying so I told Khalid to say goodbye and then we left. I only figured out what he meant when we were in the parking lot, and I told my mom and sister what I thought he was saying and it finally clicked.
And then I think we went to JC Penny, this lake place to take photos, and then back home. We didn't eat cake with my dad this year, and I don't really know if this upset him or not... anyways!! the cake was really good and tasty; way better than last year's cake (it was cream cheese. I don't like cream cheese.) Anywaysx2, I really hope my dad lets we mow the lawn this summer, so I have an excuse to drink monster energy.
Can you spot when I lost motivation to keep writing about our trip to Jonesboro in this entry?? I'll give you a loli if you get it right :)
Latour
p.s.: I totally forgot about to write about when we went to barnes & noble because it was such a nothing burger, but know that we did go there, but it was too forgettable to write about
